Chingford League Race 4 Claybury 27 November 2010

Another excellent turn- out in terms of numbers and some excellent performances - but with the Men 4th and the Ladies 7th it looks like we are going to have to concede to Orion again this year. The Vet Men were 2nd, but remain a point clear of Orion after 4 races. Great performances from Nicola F in 2nd in the Ladies race & Richard M and Alex Horton who were 3rd & 9th respectively in the Men. Our results are here.

British & Irish Masters International X-Country, Santry, Ireland 13 November 2010

Congratulations to Des Michael on winning another England Vest when he competed in a combined race of V50/64.
Des competed in the 8 Km. V60 age category and finished in 4th place being 2nd scorer for England. The winning team were:-

Chingford League, Hainault 2 November 2010

A rather windy evening, saw the Senior Men respond well, after the 4th place at Loughton, with a win, the first over Orion this season and for some while. The Mens Vets kept up their winning streak. Highlights were Richard M's excellent 3rd and much improved performances from Alex Horton and Dave Wilcock in particular. However our Ladies were rather disappointing tonight with only 3 making it to the start line, although Nicola F was a fine 2nd place. North London XC Champs Trent Park 30th October 2010

A generally pleasant afternoon at Trent Park, spoilt only by a short downpour right at the end as the clearing up was taking place. A big thanks received from the North London XC Committee for the excellent organisation of this event by our club, for marking out the course and pointing us all in the right direction. Conditions were pretty good under foot for Trent Park, although it was the first time I have seen a stream in the middle of the course. Well done to both Vets teams, our Ladies were victorious and the Men 3rd. Our results are here and the full results here.

A good turnout - but appears others did better in terms of strength in depth. Leaves both Men & Ladies with an upill struggle to rest the titles away from Orion this season already, although our Vet Men remain on top. Our results are here

Senior Athletes Road Handicap Club House 17th October 2010

The Seniors had a pretty good turn-out as well for the usual 5.5m circuit. Well done to Rajesh Patel and Kath March who had the fastest individual times and to Sarah Boxer for beating the handicapper. Full results at the following link

Young Athletes Road Handicaps Trent Park 16th October 2010

The Young Athletes Road Handicap attracted a large attendance with 42 budding athletes completing the 1 mile course. Well done to Paul Smith and Zoe Smith who had the fastest individual times and to Anna Lisa Mac for being first home

Metropolitan League, Claybury, 9th October 2010

Charlotte and Kate ran really well in the U17 Women's race. Cath kept us in the picture in the Senior Women's competition.
For the men's race Steve handed out race numbers one to six - an accident of the alphabet no doubt, but it seemed to augur well for the coming campaign as we jogged to the start and joked with Phil Cunningham (about number 287). In the race James and Costa gave us two good positions in the first half of the field. Andy, John, Tony and I achieved "good packing" around the 300 mark. We'll try for good packing ten places higher next time!
