Herts. County Cross Country Championships. Watford 28th March

Re-arranged date due to bad weather on 10th Jan. Highlighting the small fields, only 28 finished the Senior Men race & there were only a couple of complete teams....interestingly the Senior Men winner, Julian Critchlow (Harrow) was winning the race for the 10th time and completing a sequence that has seen him win this race in 4 decades - the 80's, 90's, 00's and now 2010's. At 49 he was not expecting to win again...

Congratulations to Des Michael who is now the National O/60 Champion having won over a distance of 8K by 27 seconds. After the first of four laps his lead was 2 seconds which had been stretched to 27 by the finish. Second in the race was Griffith Owens from Pestatyn R C in 30.15 and last years winner Malcolm Renyard of Hardly was third in a time of 30.39.
I believe Des to be the clubs first ever male National Cross Country Champion of any age category. John A
