Congratulations to Dave Wilcock, Liam O’Hare and Ron Franklin who were all placed 1st in their age category in the National Track Rankings for 2009.

Dave in the 800 metres in the M55 category 2.08.2 (Braintree 2nd May),

Liam in 10,000 metres M60 38.36.5(Battersea Park 2nd September),

Ron in 5,000 metres M80 37.26.49 (Birmingham 5th July).  

And to the ladies the following also deserve to be congratulated for their 2009 performances.

W40: 10 Miles: 4th Jo Kent 61.18

W50: Half Marathon: 6th Jane Laws 87.05

W60: 5 Miles: 5th Karen Faloon (2nd Cl) 35.36

14/3/10 HERTS, MIDDX, SEAA VETS’ CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS at TRENT PARK

This is a combined championship this year which Barnet are hosting. Please do come along and support our club athletes who are competing! All offers of help, in particular marshalling and serving teas after would be welcomed by Martyn Rowe. Please contact him on 07739 302289 or at martyn.rowe@honeywell.com with what ever help you can.

The races are at the following times:

1pm M50 M60 10km

2pm W35 W45 M70 6km

2.45pm M35 & M40

13/3/10 Chingford League Relays at Highams Park 2.30pm

Final race of the league season. Although the individual placings were decided at the Trent Park fixture this leg is vital to team placings, especially the ladies who could win both the “A” and “Vets” teams events if we have a good turnout here! The men look like they will be 2nd “A” and “B” team and 1st “Vets” team.

MEETING POINT IS THE PARK ENTRANCE FROM TAMWORTH AVENUE E4

PRESENTATIONS/REFRESHMENTS/CHANGING AT RUGBY CLUB OFF THE CHARTER ROAD E4

This is a team relay event with four to score in each team, clubs can enter any number of teams and everyone that turns up will get a run. It is a short event, around 3000m, and will be around Highams Park.

*PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY OR LET YOUR TEAM MANAGER KNOW THAT YOU INTEND TO RUN AS TEAMS HAVE TO BE DECLARED ABOUT 20 MINUTES BEFORE THE START AND YOU WILL NOT BE PUT IN A TEAM IF WE DON’T KNOW YOU ARE INTENDING TO RUN - THANKS FOR YOUR CO-OPERATION!*
